Preparing For A Crafternoon Tea

This week, after a lovely long weekend by the sea with my little family, it's time to prepare for this weekend's Crafternoon tea!

I am looking forward to crafting with a lovely group of people in the original kitchens of Pickford's House in Derby.

It's been a few months in planning and the lovely folk at Derby Museums wanted a vintage style crafting workshop from me. So together we decided on a Georgian Christmas wreath inspired Crafternoon in the beautiful museum surroundings!

At the moment we have just two places left, so if you want to prepare early for Christmas drop me an email at samanthaschofield@hotmail.co.uk.

I know it's early for Christmas, but as most crafters know the best crafts are those prepared without any stress as early as possible.

Can't wait to share the day with you over the weekend!

See you later on,

Samantha

A Day In The Life

Hello,

I was honoured to feature on the Made By Mrs M site last week in her 'Day in the life' series.

Read here what a typical day is like for me as life as a Crafternoon Tea Hostess!

Here are some of the pictures from the post -

Monday Moods - Cakes

Today's mood board is a collection of pretty cakes and china from Crafternoon HQ.

I love to bake and as the weather changed so dramatically over the last few days, it's time to get those comfort food recipes out.

Let's wrap up warm with a nice cup of tea, a winter craft and a lovely piece of cake and prepare for Christmas Crafternoons.

Bye for now,

Why A New Look?

Over the last few months we have moved over the web address to www.crafternoonteahostess.co.uk as we are growing and want to make it easier for people to find us!

So we are getting our look re-designed. I wanted us share with you where we are. We wanted to look vintage, clean and with a consistent logo so you can spot us at events, parties or when we are out and about.

So we have the new moody black and white logo to stamp onto our flyers, papers and cake boxes. Once it's here, we'll be making up new tags in the office.

We also wanted a simple logo that says what we do and who we are, the vintage type font suggests we use vintage machinery which we do in the parties. The typewriters come out at the bespoke Christmas accessory workshops and crafters can type in the same font onto fabric.

I did look at adding a motif but it just didn't look right.

We will still use the tea cup and thread which we have used since day 1. I love the pink as it's feminine and our audience is mainly ladies.

So look out for us online and give us a 'hello' or a 'wave'!

I hope you like our changes.

Bye for now,

Monday Silver and Pearl Moodboard

Hello!

It's October and chilly so it's start to think about crafting for Christmas. I'm working on two treat size Crafternoon tea's at the moment using this palette.

www.crafternoonteahostess.co.uk
how pretty?
Over the last week, I've been gathering together a palette of silver and pearls which would look vintage, elegant and go with other colours in your crafting project.

Pearl can be used from everything from Weddings to birthdays and Christmas on not only textile makes but as a shimmer on your bakes or a dash of colour on a button!

I'm using these colours for Christmas decorations and wreaths with a Georgian feel.

So, it's back to the crafting and planning for Christmas projects!

Bye for now,
